The Pakistani establishment has made a deal with the Taliban through a leading Taliban commander that will extend Islamabad's influence into southwestern Afghanistan and significantly strengthen the resistance in its push to capture Kabul.

It's truly saddening - and frightening - isn't it? Poor bloody Afghanistan. Where will it end?

I hear you brother. It sickens me that so much money and so many lives have been wasted, and for what?

There's the added irony that the Taliban are now to many the face of resistence to outside interference in Afghanistan. And Pakistan hasn't exactly learnt its lesson about interfering in the affairs of neighbouring states. Although to an extent you could argue the distinction between Pakistan and Afghanistan are somewhat artifical. The Taliban are arguably a Pakistani proxy, like many of the militias that are or have been in existence in Africa, South America, Asia.
